AMD Officially Unveils AMD Ryzen 9000 Series, 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen AI Processor, 5th Gen AMD EPYC And Much More At Computex 2024

At the Computex 2024 event held yesterday, AMD unveiled a series of CPU, GPU, and NPU architectures that arrive with AI capabilities and high-performance computing. These newly unveiled processors include- the AMD Ryzen 9000 series, 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen AI 300 series, 5th Gen AMD EPYC, AMD Versal AI Edge Gen 2, Stable Diffusion 3, AMD In They distinct MI324X, and MI350X.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Series

The new Ryzen 9000 series is based on the AM5 platform with support for PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 technologies. The lineup includes flagship Ryzen 9 9950X processors, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 9700X, and Ryzen 9600X processors. These processors will be available in markets from July 2024. These processors are based on TSMC’s latest 4nm process, this new CPU architecture is said to offer a 16% improvement in IPC over Zen 4.

3rd Gen AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series

Secondly, AMD has announced two new chipsets under the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen AI 300 series- Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 365. These are claimed to be the world’s best processors for Copilot+ PCs. The new models go up to 12 cores with a combination of the new Zen 5 cores and slower Zen 5C cores. They include a Radeon 890M graphics card.

5th Gen AMD EPYC

The next processor unveiled by AMD is the 3rd Gen AMD EPYC data center chip that is built on Zen 5 architecture. It offers up to 192 cores and 384 threads manufactured on a 3nm process node. They will be paired with a 6nm I/O Die (IOD) in a single socket configuration, comprising 13 chipsets. It will utilize the SPS socket ensuring compatibility with Genoa. The availability of these chipsets is not revealed by AMD but it is expected to arrive in the second half of 2024.

AMD Instinct MI325X And MI350X

The company unveiled AMD Instinct MI325X accelerator which is said to offer 2x more memory and 1.3x more bandwidth. It will bring 288GB of HBM3E memory and 6TB per second of memory bandwidth. It is said to be available in Q4 of 2024. Other than this AMD has also introduced AMD Instinct MI350X accelerator that is based on the AMD CDNA 4 architecture and will be using 3nm advanced process technology. It supports FP4 and FP6 AI data types and is said to have 288 GB of HBM3E memory. AMD Instinct MI350X is said to be available in 2025.

AMD Versal AI Edge Gen 2

The new AMD Versalâ„¢ AI Edge Series Gen 2 brings together FPGA programmable logic for real-time pre-processing, next-gen AI Engines powered by XDNA technology for efficient AI inference, and embedded CPUs for post-processing to deliver the highest-performing single-chip adaptive solution for edge AI. AMD Versal AI Edge Gen 2 devices are available now for early access with over 30 key partners currently in development.

AMD Stable Diffusion 3

Last but not least, AMD has also unveiled Stable Diffusion 3 which is optimized for AMD Instinct MI300X series accelerators. Not much details have been revealed by the company, but Stable Diffusion will be launching on 12th June, 2024 and all the information will be revealed by AMD.
