TATA IPL Mega Auction 2022: Sam Billings bought for 2 crores by Kolkata Knight Riders on 2nd day of auction

England wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders in the second day  at his base price 2 crore. He went unsold on the first day. Sam Billings could be a reliable choice as he will be useful if MS Dhoni does not play from next season but CSK has not choosed him to be a part of the team.

Earlier this year, the 28-year-old batsman made his Test debut in the fifth and final Ashes Test. In the Hobart Test, Billings scored 29 and 1 while also demonstrating impressive skill with the gloves.

Sam Billings did well in a few games for Chennai Super Kings in the past. Chennai Super Kings released him in the past i.e. before ipl 2020 after which in IPL 2021 he was picked up by delhi capitals who once he was a part of back in 2017 and 2016. He has played 22 matches at an average rate of 17.57 with strike rate 133.60.
