Riyad Mahrez completes 4 years at Man City

Algerian player Riyad Mahrez has completed 4 years at the Etihad Stadium, the club remembers the signing of this special player.

On 10 July 2018, Manchester City confirmed the signing of Mahrez on a five year contract. The transfer fee made him the most expensive African footballer with an amount of 60 million pounds. He scored his first hat-trick for City in a 5-0 home league win over Burnley on 28 November, 2020

Courtesy Mahrez, Manchester City got to their first European Cup final in the club’s history. The lad is known for his versatility and can play anywhere across the front line of the pitch. Mahrez is capable of putting the ball in the goal net, he can also make useful assists.

Moreover, he has credited his former Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri for helping him develop and understand the tactical aspects of the game, although, under Pep Guardiola he managed to improve his defending skills and work-rate and decision-making.

The Algerian has been regarded as one of the best wingers in world football.

With his transfer from Leicester, Manchester City have definitely earned a great asset for the team and there will be no doubt if his contract is extended with City.
