Neeraj Chopra wins silver at World Athletics Championship

India’s pride and boy Neeraj Chopra has won another accolade under his name, the Haryana boy has earned India’s only second medal at the World Athletics Championships, finishing with a historic silver in the men’s javelin final. With Neeraj’s throw of 88.13 m in his fourth attempt secured him of not only a podium finish but also ended India’s 29 long years wait for a medal at the World’s after Anju Bobby George’s bronze medal finish in the women’s long jump way back in 2003.

Grenada’s Anderson Peters took away the gold with a gigantic throw of 90.54 m. Moreover, all his attempts cleared the 90 m mark.

The fourth attempt of Neeraj’s was the game changer, the throw surpassed Vadlejch’s best by just that much. However, the fifth and sixth attempt went for fouls.

Vadlejch’s best of 88.03 secured him a bronze medal finish, followed by Weber at fourth position respectively.

Neeraj’s global performance continue to rise after securing a gold at the Olympics for India. Also, Neeraj Chopra with a throw of 89.30m at the Paavo Nurmi games set a national record and followed it with an effort of 86.69m at the Kourtane Games.
