IPL Mega Auction confirmed to be organised on February 12 to 13 in Bangalore

The much-anticipated cricket tournament of the country India, Indian Premier League is coming again. So which team are you supporting? For which team is your favourite player playing?

Yes, the schedule for the Mega auction for the IPL has been confirmed. It will take place on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore, India.

Official announcements by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are yet awaited but Cricbuzz confirmed that the officials called the franchise to inform the dates and details of the auction.

It is much awaited because it’s the first mega auction since 2018 and a relatively large number of players will be auctioned so it will be fun. It was first scheduled to be held in late December 2021 or in early January 2022. But due to some issues regarding the acquisition by CVC Capital Partners of the new Ahmedabad franchise led to delay.

The IPL auction will also coincide with the International series between India and West Indies. The series will include three ODIs and many T20Is between February 6 and 20, 2022. The franchises are also clarified that the match and auction are two different things and the match will have no bearings on the auction proceedings instead both will go ahead as planned by the board.

The channels Star Sports which have the broadcast rights of both the events is also informed and their reply is awaited.

The BCCI has also asked the International boards and state associations to convey the list of players by January 17 to be enrolled for the auction. This year, IPL auctions will have 10 teams and more than 1000 players with almost 200 to 250 players likely to go under the hammer.

The franchises are also informed that the pre-auction briefing will take place on February 11 and thus they need to be present in Bangalore by evening of the day.
