England v India; 1st T20I

After the rescheduled Test match, the Indian and English sides are all prepared to square off in 6 white ball games. The two sides meet in the first match of the T20I at Southampton. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is back after recovering from Covid – 19.

Few things come up as a first in this match, Jos Buttler makes his debut as captain for England in white ball format, Arshdeep Singh of India gets his first international match to play in.

Senior players from the Indian side are rested, namely, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami.

India and England have played 19 T20Is between them and the tally is India – 10, England – 9.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat, the current score at the moment is 33/1 in 4 overs, Indian captain just departed by scoring a quick fire 24.

Followed by T20I, the ODI series will come up. The Indian team will then head to the West Indies for 3 match ODI series.
