Best teams to play in FIFA World Cup 2022

FIFA World Cup is back in the year 2022, the mega tournament will be played at Qatar this time. The first match is between Qatar and Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium on November 21. Qatar is by far the worst team in all eight groups and has least chance in the tournament.

With the tournament coming up in less than seven months away, lets have a look at the teams who are the favourites for this cup’s edition:

Brazil

Five time World Cup champions, the most for any team, but its been more than two decades since they last lifted the trophy. The 2022 sqaud is the most effective one since 2002. Brazil reached back to back finals in Copa America and even won it 2019.

France

The defending champions of the World, France, had a disappointing run at the Euros. But, with the attack of Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann. The team gave a good reply to the critics after the early Euro Cup exit by winning the 2021 UEFA Nations League.

England

The 1966 winners, always getting a good start but unable to make it big in the knockouts. Fourth place finishers in the 2018 World Cup and runners up in Euro 2020, the three lions expect nothing but glory at Qatar. English striker Harry Kane was also the joint top scorer across European qualifying with 12 goals.

Spain

2010 World Cup, 2012 Euro Cup to their name, a disaster elimination in the 2018 World Cup by Russia, the younger slot of players are still unable to get the momentum running. But, with sheer consistency, the Spanish are unstoppable.

Argentina

With the latest 2021 Copa America in their hands, Lionel Messi headed his nation to illustrious glory in his time. However, the ex – Barcelona player will be looking to signing off with a crowning glory to his name in the Qatar World Cup. The striking duo of Lionel Messi with Lautaro Martinez will hopefully be a game changer for Argentina.

Germany

After an early exit at the Euros, the 2014 winners turned the tables around and became the first nation to qualify for the Qatar World Cup. The team has also said goodbye to long time coach Joachim Low, with now the vision of Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick. Players like Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane, Kai Havertz, Sergy Gnabry the team can cause complete havoc in the tournament.

Netherlands

Unable to qualify for the 2018 edition, the Dutch return to the field. Led by Louis van Gaal, who guided them to the third place in 2014. The 70 year old has revealed that he is currently battling prostate cancer, however he will continue in his role as coach in the Qatar World Cup.

Belgium

The No. 1 team in the world for consecutive years, until Brazil snatched its position. Third place in 2018 and reaching the quarter finals of the Euro 2020. With the game around Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Dries Mertens. The side will sure give the teams a run for their money.

Portugal

The fifth World Cup for Cristiano Ronaldo, although a one man show can’t do the trick for the Portuguese. With the likes of Bernardo Silva, Diogo Jota, Ruben Dias and Rafael Leao all playing amazingly for their respective clubs, will be huge boost to Ronaldo and the Portuguese fans. They were the winners of the UEFA European Championship 2016 and UEFA Nations League 2019
