Italian club Juventus has completed the signing of Argentine player Angel Di Maria on a one year deal, the transfer is a free trade. The forward has been a free agent ever since he left PSG and now his stint with the Serie A club starts and will be until June 2023.
Di Maria arrived to PSG from Manchester United in 2015 and has been a crucial player over the years for both club and country, winning five league titles and claiming 18 trophies in all.
The former PSG player will earn around 5.5 million euros and with the add-ons it could go up to 7 million. Moreover, according to la Gazzetta dello Sport, the player’s entourage will receive a commission worth 1.3 million for their role in the negotiation process.
“It is a new stage for me. I am very, very happy. From the moment I said yes, I saw it from day one, these people have become like a family to me. And the truth is that this makes me very happy,” said Angel Di Maria upon his arrival at Turin.
The 34 year old has chosen jersey no. 22 and the reason is, “I chose 22 because I wore it in Madrid. It reminds me of the Champions League victory and Juventus also want to win the Champions League,” he said to JuventusNews24.
“Since it was free I wanted it again. My wife loves the black and white colours and 22 is the day my daughter was born.” the Argentine added.
