Afghanistan vs Pakistan, Shaheens restrict Afghans on 129/6

The Men in Green had won the toss and ever since the beginning of the match were all over the Afghanistan batters in the Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2022 at Sharjah.

With regular wickets in intervals, Pakistan made sure Afghanistan didn’t go past the 130-run mark, hence they could only manage 129/6 in their 20 overs. However, in the first 10 overs, they were in commanding position at 78/2 before losing track.

If Pakistan win, India and Afghanistan are out of the tournament, and it will be Sri Lanka and Pakistan in finals, it’s a must win game for the Afghans.

For Pakistan, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf were the pick of bowlers, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan also picked up a wicket each and contributed for the team.

The last five overs saw Afghanistan only put up just 36 runs. Pakistan kept things in their favour. Moreover, the 17th over was the one for Pakistan as they conceded just a single run and took a wicket.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is having a nightmare in the Asia Cup, as he departs for a golden duck today as well, Pakistan is 40/2 in 7 overs with Mohammed Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed on the crease.
