Wing Commander Harshit Sinha has lost his life in the crash, during a training attack in which the pilot was killed. This is the fifth MiG-21 crash this year, involving the Russian-origin MiG-21.

Further than 400 MiG-21s have been involved in accidents that have claimed the lives of further than 200 aviators during the last six decades, earning the fighters portentous epithets similar as “ Flying Pall” and “ Widow Maker”.

Experts have said that further MiG-21s have crashed than any other fighter because they formed the bulk of the fighter aircraft in the IAF’s force for a long time.

IAF had to keep its MiG-21 line flying longer than it would have liked because of detainments in the induction of new fighters.The Bison was involved in IAF operations after the unknown, reconciliation,cross-border strike against terror targets in Pakistan’s Balakot two times agone.
