Venkatesh Prasad came in support of Nupur Sharma over prophet Muhammad controversy

In a tweet on Sunday, former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad expressed amazement and denounced the hanging of an effigy of ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma outside a mosque in Belgavi, Karnataka, for her views on Prophet Muhammad.

Prasad had previously expressed his outrage at the hanging effigy in a tweet, saying that he couldn’t believe this was India in the twenty-first century. He had pleaded with everyone to let reason win out and put politics aside. His call for sanity, on the other hand, irritated certain ‘liberals,’ Islamists, and others, who, rather than agreeing to put an end to the violence and death threats, engaged in whataboutery instead.

Some people are protesting the proclamation on social media, while others are applauding it. And a photo of it is going viral, with many people reacting adversely to this type of protest.

Protesters made a public display of their displeasure by hanging a statue of Nupur Sharma. The effigy showed Nupur being hanged, a method of punishment that has become increasingly popular among Muslims around the world, with Islamists in France, Afghanistan, and other Islamic countries all carrying out similar executions.

On Friday, India was rife with unending violence as insane outcasts decided to unleash their innate abilities to cause mayhem across the country.
