The awards and decoration of the 2023 Academy Awards were looking for the star whose movie “Top Gun: Maverick” was nominated for six awards. We are talking about none other than Tom Cruise who chose to join Michael Caine’s 90th birthday over the Academy Awards event of 2023.

Michael was celebrating his 90th birthday this year with Tom, Chris McQuarrie, Shakira Caine, and other guests. The image of the event has been shared on Instagram by David Walliams. In one of the photos Tom’s hand can be seen around Michael in a celebrating mood. Another photo showed Tom, Michael, and David standing behind them.
The image also showed the good condition of Michael Caine who has been recovering from a major spinal surgery to treat spinal stenosis.
Tom leaving the Academy Award function and attending the Michael Caine birthday is a testimony to their friendship that has been there since they starred in Cocktail together. There are some speculations that say that Tom wanted to skip the Academy Award event because of the presence of his ex-wife Nicole Kidman in the event.
But insiders close to Cruise said that his absence was not because of personal reasons but scheduling issues. The duo married on Dec 24, 1990, and adopted two children named Isabella and Connor. They both broke up in Feb 2001 and Tom married Katie Holmes in 2006 meanwhile the same year Kidman married musician Keith Urban.
