The first movie in the Garfield franchise, “Garfield: The Movie”, came out in 2003 and starred Bill Murray as the title character Garfield. He also starred in the sequel, “Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties”, which came out in 2006. Though these films received negative critical reception, they achieved commercial success.

These live-action and CGI-hybrid movies were followed by two direct-to-video movies, “Garfield Gets Real” and “Garfield’s Fun Fest”, and two animated series, “Garfield and Friends” and “The Garfield Show”.
