US President Donald Trump threatens smartphone manufacturers Apple and Samsung with 25% import tax, if manufacturing not shifted to the US

Recently US President Donald Trump threatened Apple to impose 25% tariffs if they manufacture their device in India or elsewhere and sell those devices in the US. This warning came after it was revealed that Apple CEO, Tim Cook is planning to set up a manufacturing plant in India and manufacture iPhones in the country.
Trump mentioned that he expressed his disagreement related to this decision by Apple and informed Tim Cook that he expects iPhones that will be sold in the US market to be manufactured and built in the US, not in India, or anyplace else and if that is not the case, a 25% tariff must be paid by Apple to the US.
Trump mentioned that he does not have a problem with Apple building a manufacturing plant in India, but if those devices are sold in the US, then the company will have to pay the tariffs. Well, recently while talking to reporters, Trump mentioned that not only Apple, but Samsung and other smartphone makers who make their products outside the US and sell them into the US will have to face the tariffs, otherwise it wouldn’t be fair. It was also said that if the companies build their plant in the US, there will be no tariff charged.
The 25% tariff could mean that the customers will have to pay higher prices, as import taxes are usually passed along through increased retail costs.
