Samsung reportedly decides to halt its home appliance products (TVs and displays) sales in China

Recent reports suggested that Samsung is considering withdrawing from TV and home appliances sales in China, but there was no announcement made regarding this matter.
Tipster @UniverseIce has now shared that Samsung’s official home page in China pops a notice for the users that states that Samsung Electronics has decided to cease sales of all home appliances, including TVs and monitors, in the Chinese mainland market due to rapidly changing market conditions.
Consumers who have already purchased a Samsung home appliance product will continue receiving after-sales service in strict accordance with the Consumer Rights Protection Law, national warranty regulations, and other relevant laws and regulations.
Though the company has stated a “rapidly changing market environment”, online reports suggest that the Chinese brands have pushed Samsung out of the market with aggressive pricing. It is said that the company has only halted sales in China, while Samsung’s home appliance manufacturing in China (for overseas markets) will remain operational.
Also, only the sales of Samsung’s home appliance products will be halted, and Samsung’s smartphones and chips will continue to be sold in the market.
Last year, Samsung’s TV and home appliances recorded losses of 200 billion won due to competition and US tariffs.
