What is Apple Pay and how to make transactions on it?
Contactless payments have now become a new trend, from deliveries to pickups to payments. In this era of cashless payments Apple Pay has become a go-to-payment option for iPhone users.
What is Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is Apple’s mobile payment service which lets users with an iPhone 6 or newer as well as Apple Watch owners make payments using NFC with their device. Apple Pay is also available in apps and on the web on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. To keep transactions secure, Apple uses a method known as ‘tokenization,’ preventing actual debit card numbers from being sent over the air. Every transaction needs to be authorized by either Touch ID, Face ID, or your passcode.
How to use Apple Pay?
To set up Apple Pay, go to Settings- Wallet and Apple Pay- Add card
After the card is added, you can choose to enable Apple Cash, enable double click side button to work as a shortcut
Double-click the button on the right side of your iPhone
This brings up your cards to pay you just have to choose your payment card
Enter the passcode to pay
You need to enter your passcode to authorize and pay for your purchase. You can also make payment without entering a passcode you just need to glance at your iPhone to authenticate Face ID or rest your finger on the Touch ID
Hold your iPhone near the reader
After authenticating your payment, just hold your phone within about an inch of the card reader to process the transaction
