The device will come in storage options of 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 8GB/512GB. Color choices of Obsidian Black, Galaxy Silver, Lucky Red, and Phoenix Gold will be made available for it and in terms of its dimension and weight, it will measure 166.64 x 78.43 x 8.39 mm and weigh 219gm. Other revealed key specs include the Android 16 OS, 2G/3G/4G/5G network, dual SIM cards, type-C headphone jack, USB 2.0, NFC, and 7200mAh battery, and the device is said to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. On the 16th of January 2026, it is also mentioned to hit the Chinese market.

Speaking about its design, the design renders of the Vivo Y500i Obsidian Black color variant have been listed, and the device looks somewhat identical to the Vivo S50 smartphone that debuted in the Chinese market around the mid-half of this month (December 2025). Its display is flat with thin bezels and centrally-placed punch-hole selfie camera, and on the flat rear, it positions a squircle-shaped camera module at the top-left portion which houses three camera sensors, an LED flashlight, and an LED ringlight. The sides are also flat, while the corners are rounded. Along the sides, antenna lines can also be spotted, and the volume rockers + power button are on the right side panel. At the bottom, the card tray, microphone hole, USB-C port, and speaker holes are there, whereas the top portion seemingly equips an IR blaster as well as the added microphone.

Looking into the 3C listing of Vivo’s Y500i device, the certification pointed out that it will support up to 44W wired fast charging. As the time to market is scheduled for next month, probably Vivo could soon be announcing the launch of its Y500i smartphone in China. Stay tuned for it.
