Yesterday, a video of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra surfaced online, which revealed the display design, videos being played on the device and the display view from every angle. This particular video has been circulating online since then, with many users talking about the hinge design or some visible reflections on the display in a few scenarios.
Well, tipster @UniverseIce, who is known for sharing various updates on Samsung devices, has now shared that the recently leaked Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra video is a false alarm.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra recently leaked video turns out to be a false alarm
According to the tipster, the device shown in the above video is not the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra but the blue variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It is said that, due to the lighting and colour temperature, the blue frame appeared black in the leaked video.
He also highlighted three points that led him to this conclusion. First, the inner display camera cutout in the video is too large and doesn’t match the official Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra renders, which show a noticeably smaller inner camera cutout.
Secondly, in the video, when the device is closed, the rear panel appears to feature a cylindrical camera housing that reflects light with a bright metallic sheen, which is similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. And the renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra do not reveal this rear camera housing.
Lastly, it was previously shared that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will be the first to feature an anti-reflective inner display film. But the device in the leaked video shows screen reflections from some angles.
The tipster concluded that the confusion regarding the devices is understandable, as both Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra share the same overall dimension and aspect ratio, which could lead to this confusion. It is tipped that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is better than the previous generation and will have a less visible crease.
Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for next week on 22nd July, and at this particular event, the brand is said to unveil its next-generation foldable devices.
