Samsung Tipped to Add ‘Pro’ Variant to Galaxy S27 Lineup with S26 Ultra’s Exclusive Privacy Display

We have already come across previous reports suggesting that Samsung was planning to introduce a ‘Pro’ variant within its Galaxy S26 series. However, as per what was later revealed, the South Korean tech maker eventually continued with its usual lineup consisting of the standard, plus, and ultra models.

Now, a new update has surfaced suggesting that the upcoming Galaxy S27 series could once again bring back the ‘Pro’ variant.

Here’s more about it.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Series – ‘Pro’ Variant Tipped

As per a recent report from a South Korean publication, Samsung is now said to be planning to include a ‘Pro’ variant in its next-generation Galaxy S27 series. From what it seems, the brand had previously considered this move for the Galaxy S26 lineup as well, but due to increased component costs, the idea was dropped at the last moment.

Speaking more, with the introduction of this ‘Pro’ variant, the Galaxy S27 series is expected to feature a total of four models. The report further adds that Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Experience (MX) division has planned this move in order to expand its premium lineup by offering more than just a single high-end model. It is stated that the aim is to increase the number of high-end devices from one (Ultra) to two, by adding the Pro model.

While detailed specifications have not yet been revealed, the ‘Pro’ variant is said to offer features similar to that of the Ultra model, but without support for the S Pen functionality. Additionally, the Privacy Display feature, which was seen on the Galaxy S26 Ultra model, is also expected to be made available on both the Pro and Ultra variants of the Galaxy S27 series.

Also, as previously understood, Samsung had dropped the Galaxy S26 Edge model due to its poor market performance, and a similar approach could be followed for the upcoming lineup as well. The report further explains that this move is likely aimed at competing with Apple’s four-model strategy, which includes two standard models and two high-end models.

With this expected change, Samsung is said to be restructuring its lineup strategy, and the upcoming ‘Pro’ variant could possibly fill the gap between the Galaxy S27 Plus and the Galaxy S27 Ultra models in terms of pricing and positioning.

More updates regarding the Galaxy S27 series can be expected in the coming months.
