Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s battery now spotted on the Indian BIS certification

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Series continues to surface in new leaks almost every single day. Now, the battery model numbers have appeared on the Indian BIS certification website, which further confirms that the India launch is almost certain.
Here is more to it.
Samsung Galaxy S26’s Battery spotted on the India BIS certification
On the BIS database, two battery model numbers, “EB-BS948ABE” and “EB-BS948ABY” have been listed under Samsung branding. The certification shows a date of grant of 6 October 2025, confirming that Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy S26 Series in India.

These battery model numbers are linked to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, because of the “SM-S948AB” part present within the code. While the BIS listing does not reveal the battery capacity, earlier 3C certification showed that the EB-BS948ABY unit has a rated capacity of 4,855 mAh, which is expected to be marketed as 5,000 mAh, similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
There have been ongoing discussions about which chipset Samsung plans to use across the S26 lineup. Earlier, it was rumoured that the entire series would run on the Exynos 2600 SoC. However, a new report now claims that Samsung may offer the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 exclusively on the Galaxy S26 Ultra for both global markets and India, while the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus will be powered by the Exynos 2600. The same report also states that the Ultra model will likely see a price increase due to higher component costs and tariffs. Samsung may even switch back to Exynos for the Galaxy S27 Ultra in order to keep pricing under control.
Previous leaks also suggested that the company could launch the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge alongside the Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, after poor sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge, recent information indicates that Samsung will likely go back to its usual lineup with three models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
As for the timeline, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Series is expected to launch in the last week of January 2026, with global sales beginning in February 2026.
