Samsung is rumoured to launch its Galaxy S26 series by the end of February, and it is expected to include the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Out of the trio, the Galaxy S26+ has now been spotted on Thailand’s NBTC certification, confirming its model number.

Here is more to it.

Samsung Galaxy S26+ spotted on NBTC

The NBTC certification confirms that the model number SM-S947B/DS belongs to the Galaxy S26+. The “DS” at the end suggests that the device will feature dual SIM support. Earlier, this model number was rumoured to be associated with the Galaxy S26 Edge. However, it was later revealed via tipsters that Samsung is not planning to launch a Pro or Edge variant this year. Instead, the company is expected to return to its traditional lineup consisting of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The listing also reveals that the device received approval under the certification number “B38006-26”. Under the telecommunications equipment subcategory, it is listed as “Cellular Mobile (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/NR)”. While the approval date is not mentioned, the listing confirms that this model number indeed belongs to the Galaxy S26+.

Going further, the Galaxy S26+ was also spotted on the TUV Rheinland certification, which revealed that the device could pack a 4,750mAh battery, likely to be marketed as a 5,000mAh battery, along with support for 45W wired fast charging. The same model number SM-S947B/DS has also appeared on India’s BIS certification, hinting at an Indian launch as well.

Additionally, a report by publication The Elec suggests that Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S26+ with the same 6.66″ display size as its predecessor, the Galaxy S25+. The report also mentions Samsung’s production plans for February, which are reportedly set at 700,000 units for the Galaxy S26, 600,000 units for the Galaxy S26+, and 3.6 million units for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Compared to January, production volumes for the standard and Plus models are expected to increase, while production of the Ultra model is anticipated to decrease, according to the report.
