Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ spotted on BIS certification, India launch confirmed

Samsung is rumoured to launch its next-generation Galaxy S26 series smartphones next month, in February 2026. Ahead of the official unveiling, at least two models from the lineup have now been spotted on India’s BIS certification database. These include the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+.

Both listings were first spotted by tipster Anvin on X. The Samsung Galaxy S26, carrying the model number SM-S942B/DS, and the Galaxy S26+, with model number SM-S947B/DS, have appeared on the BIS certification website. The listing confirms that the Galaxy S26 received approval on 31st December 2025, while the Galaxy S26+ was approved on 2nd January 2026. Beyond this, the certification does not reveal any additional details.

Meanwhile, a recent tip suggests that pricing for the Galaxy S26 series may remain unchanged (similar to the launch price of the Galaxy S25 series), despite a sharp rise in Component market prices. Additionally, Samsung is reportedly planning to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on 25th February 2026 for the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, although this date remains unofficial.

This time, Samsung is not expected to introduce an Edge or Pro variant. Instead, the company is likely to launch three models, the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

As for the chipset, the Galaxy S26 Ultra was recently spotted on the FCC, revealing that both the US and India variants are likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. However, reports suggest that Samsung may release an Exynos 2600 variant in select markets, most likely South Korea.

More details should emerge in the coming weeks. As the alleged launch date draws closer, upcoming Geekbench listings are expected to provide a clearer picture of what to expect from the Galaxy S26 series.
