Airtel gets a deal for USD 1 Billion from Nokia to boost network

A deal such big USD 1 Billion signed by Bharti Airtel and Nokia was announced by Bharti Airtel on Monday. According to the deal, Nokia will provide Airtel with a Nokia SRAN solution to be deployed by Airtel in 9 circles. This will help Airtel to ramp up its 4G network around the country.

According the reports, Airtel will deploy around 300000 radio network in the 9 circles. The deployment will be completed by 2022 and will cover these bands 900 Mhz, 1800 Mhz, 2100 Mhz and 2300 Mhz.

SRAN solution is considered one of the best solution to help providers manage their existing radios including 2G, 3G, and 4G. Also Nokia will be an exclusive SRAN’s solution for indian telecom giant Bharti Airtel.
