WhatsApp will stop working on several devices including the Apple iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C

Every smartphone brand comes with their own default messaging feature but most of them are not used. Different social media platforms fulfil the requirements of messaging no matter what brand it is.

The popular messaging app WhatsApp, however, is that one social media platform which is used immensely by users all around the world. Especially in India, it is the primary messaging app used by users. But, there is a concerning news for WhatsApp users as WhatsApp will stop working in more than 50 different devices which also includes iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c.

It is not very surprising for WhatsApp to do so because the platform drops support for older phones as it moves forward. So, as it was reported by GizChina, the app will stop working on a dozen of sizes starting from December 31st, 2022.

In the past, WhatsApp had also discontinued its app for iOS 10 and iOS 11 in October. So the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c owners were no longer able to install the latest version of the app.

The other phones inlcude:-

  • HTC Desire 500
  •  Lenovo A820
  • LG Optimus
  • Samsung Galaxy S3

According to WhatsApp, there are only a few people still using the app on these old devices and it is important to remove the feature to improve it for other users. The current iPhone version of WhatsApp available for free on the App Store requires iOS 12 or later.
