Public service announcements in the United States of America have something important to share. The Federal  Bureau of Investigation popularly known as the FBI is now warning the citizens residing in America about impersonators and their role in ad scams. What these people really do is that they impersonate an official business or person and link ads to it. However, these ads are a scam.

The FBI has warned people to look out for real-time search results of official businesses and these ads to identify the difference between the two. These impersonators make sure that these look identical and try to fool people.

Other ads are related to phishing and malware. These platforms invite people to enter their credentials. Once you enter your credentials on these sites, your money is stolen. Sometimes, your information is also sold to other threat actors which is dangerous.

Malvertising is harmful to one and all. Beware of such scams and be mindful of where you choose to enter your personal information. There have been cases in the past related to the same. To protect yourself, first, check the URL of your search results. Prefer skipping promoted ads rather than clicking on them. Beware of clone sites.
