Sony Xperia 1 VII Issues Might be a Result of Poor Quality Assembly by OEM Assembly Companies, Suggests Tipster
The Japanese tech maker – Sony introduced its much-awaited Xperia 1 VII flagship smartphone model back in May 2025, and recently buyers of this device have been facing certain issues. While Sony has decided to terminate the sales of the smartphone in different global markets, a tipster on the X platform has pointed out the possible reason for the issues.

Is the Sony Xperia 1 VII Issues (Shutdowns and Reboots) Caused as a Result of Poor Quality Assembly?
An exact answer to why Sony’s latest Xperia 1 VII smartphone is showing all these issues is still not known, however the issues are more serious than initially assumed – as followed by Japan, Sony has decided to call off the sales of the Xperia 1 VII smartphone in more global markets. At the beginning, four Japanese models were reported to have been affected by the issues – random shutdowns and reboots, and later the sale of the smartphone got suspended in Japan. Similarly, in Taiwan and Hong Kong too, the brand made announcements stating that it is suspending the sale of the Xperia 1 VII smartphone. In the European countries, while the brand hasn’t announced anything in particular about the issues or suspension of sales, the sale of the latest smartphone in Europe has also halted quietly. Moreover, Sony’s storefront in UK, Germany, Spanish, and more has listed the Xperia 1 VII smartphone as ‘out of stock’.
Based on all these occurrences, it can be understood that there could be an underlying hardware-related issue that could be affecting the Sony Xperia 1 VII smartphone models, and as per what the tipster @raihanhan121 claims, it is possibly due to the assembly of the smartphone within OEM assembly companies rather than in Sony’s own factories. Early this year, the production of the smartphone was also shifted from the Thai factory to some Chinese factory too. The quality of the device may have been compromised as a result of this, and these issues are likely to have something to do with poor assembly.
Sony will have to deal with these issues as soon as possible and will have to come up with a proper solution at the earliest. For the already affected customers, the brand will also have to find a way to compensate for their time and money as well.
