Samsung Galaxy F23 5G is again receiving the May 2025 security patch update in August

The Samsung Galaxy F23 5G was launched with a promise of two major OS upgrades and four years of security patch updates. It has already received two major OS upgrades and is currently running One UI 6.1 based on Android 14. Now, it’s getting a new update, though the changelog states May 2025 security patch, which doesn’t make sense as we are in August 2025 and have already received the May 2025 security patch. It should have been the August 2025 update, but it is what it is.

The May 2025 security patch (should have been August) update is now rolling out in India with version numbers E236BXXUAEYF3/E236BODMAEYF3/E236BXXUAEYF1. It’s a decent update, weighing about 272.22 MB.

To clear up any confusion, the Galaxy F23 5G has already received its last major OS upgrade. Launched in 2022 with Android 12, it was promised two major OS upgrades and four years of security patches. While the device will continue to receive security updates, no further OS upgrades will be provided.
