Oppo officially announces the release of ColorOS 16 stable update for Oppo F29 Pro 5G in India

On 30th December, Oppo officially announced that the ColorOS 16 x Android 16 official version is available for Oppo F29 Pro 5G users in India.

The update arrives with firmware version CPH2705_16.0.2.401(EX01), and the size of this update is 3.43GB (via Oppo Community). The official version is currently available to users who manually apply for it, and later it will be rolled out to all users.

In case you are an Oppo F29 Pro 5G user and want to try out this version, you can opt in to the Release Candidate build by following the steps below:

  • Step 1: Go to Settings> System & Update> Software update> Tap the top of the page> Tap icon on the top right> Beta program> Release candidate> Apply now.
  • Step 2: Detect the update> Download now> You will receive the new version.

Before updating your device to the new version, back up your important personal data. Do note that after updating, your device may heat, lag and have fast battery draining. It is recommended to turn off your screen and charge your device for a whole night, or keep using the device, and it will get normal in a few days. Some third-party apps might not be compatible with Android 16; try to update them to their latest version.
