Nothing confirms stable Nothing OS 4.0 rollout for CMF Phone (1) and CMF Phone (2) Pro, with Phone (3a) Lite update scheduled for January 2026

As December comes to an end, Nothing has officially announced the stable rollout of Nothing OS 4.0, based on Android 16, for the CMF Phone (1) and CMF Phone (2) Pro. As Nothing had previously confirmed that both devices would receive the stable update by the end of the year.

According to the announcement, the rollout for the CMF Phone (1) begins today. Since this is a phased release, it may take some time to reach all users and is expected to be completed over the coming days. The CMF Phone (2) Pro is expected to receive the update in the following weeks (though the exact date isn’t mentioned). Nothing also confirmed that the stable Nothing OS 4.0 update will be rolled out to Nothing Phone (3a) Lite users starting in January 2026.

A CMF Phone (1) user shared a screenshot of the changelog, indicating that the update package is approximately 2.03GB in size and carries the build number Tetris-B4.0-251216-1717-IND. Another user pointed out a visual change introduced with the update, where the battery icon now shows the battery percentage inside the icon on the CMF Phone (1).

With this update, the CMF Phone (1) is receiving its final major OS upgrade. Meanwhile, the CMF Phone (2) Pro is receiving its first major OS update. The CMF Phone (2) Pro is eligible for up to three major Android updates, taking it up to Android 18, along with six years of security patch support.
