The Motorola Edge 2025 smartphone, which was launched in May 2025 with Android 15 out of the box, has now reportedly started receiving the Android 16 OS update, making it the first Motorola smartphone in 2026 to receive the latest Android version.
According to a Reddit post shared by a user, the Motorola Edge 2025 has started receiving the Android 16 update. The user has also shared a screenshot of the update screen, confirming the rollout.
As per the shared details, the Android 16 update arrives with the firmware version W1VD36H.50-7 and carries a total download size of 1.49GB. While the on-device changelog is not visible in the screenshot, Motorola has already published a dedicated Android 16 update page on its official website outlining the new features and improvements included with the update.
This rollout appears to be in its initial phase and is expected to expand to more Motorola Edge 2025 users over the coming days.
