Tech rules should be led by EU, not china – Mark Zukerberg CEO Facebook

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Monday asked the European Union to start to lead the pack in setting worldwide principles for tech guidelines or hazard seeing nations follow China as a model.

“I think right now a lot of other countries are looking at China… and saying: ‘Hey, that model looks like maybe it might work. Maybe it gives our government more control?’,” Zuckerberg said, during a video debate with EU commissioner Thierry Breton.

“I just think that that’s really dangerous and I worry about that kind of model spreading to other countries,” Zuckerberg said.

“Basically the platforms shouldn’t be left to govern themselves,” Zuckerberg said, adding that they needed to be accountable to democratic institutions to make difficult choices on how to determine questions such as the limits of free speech and control of data.

“As a private company we shouldn’t be making so many important decisions about what content we should allow on our platforms by ourselves,” he said.

The stage has put resources into content control to dodge a rehash of a series of misuses, similar to the falsehood battles that were blamed for impacting the consequence of the 2016 United States political decision, and the live-spilling of a slaughter by a far-right radical on the stage. It currently utilizes 30,000 individuals to check substance, and utilizations a calculation to naturally blue pencil hurtful substance before it is communicated.
