WhatsApp Voice, Video Calling via Satellite Network Coming to Pixel 10 on August 28
Google launched its Pixel 10 series at the Made by Google event earlier this week, bringing the new flagship lineup to global markets including India. And now Google has confirmed that the Pixel 10 series will soon support WhatsApp voice and video calls via satellite connectivity. This will let users make calls even in areas without mobile network coverage.
In a post on X, Google announced that the rollout will begin on August 28, 2025. The feature will be limited to participating carriers, and additional charges may apply. Users will also need to be outdoors with a clear view of the sky to access satellite calling.

Apple introduced a similar feature with Emergency SOS via satellite on the iPhone 14 back in 2022, though broader availability is still expected with the iPhone 16 series.
For now, Google hasn’t shared complete availability details, but the feature is expected to reach the US first, with more updates to follow at rollout.
