Accenture New Policy: Virtual Reality for Training

COVID-19, a frightening name for all of world population. The arrival of Coronavirus locked all of us into our homes, put a break on our lives and also took the lives of some. But not all of its implications are unpleasant. For example it helped people to adapt to technologies which had existed a long time but not much adapted.

Nowadays, the world is going online and economy becoming cashless. Schools, colleges and even offices are running smoothly with this transition. It seems like that the day when companies will be hiring and training their employees in Virtual Reality (VR) is in near future. Virtual Reality which is usually seen in movies, video games and sometimes marketing and excites us everything we see.

Accenture, a multi-national IT services and consulting firm has deployed about 60,000 Oculus headsets for its strategy to use technology for onboarding and training new employees. It has deployed the largest number of VR headsets acquired by any company. This technology is already been used by Walmart and Bank of America for the same purpose.

The reason behind the development of VR technology is stated that an effective onboarding process will help the new hires to understand and familiarize them with the policies and culture of their big setup. VR headsets are emerging as a constructive tool for learning and can also be used in dangerous, expensive and difficult scenarios. Along with this, it will help in developing soft skills like empathy.

Accentures is one of the largest employers of the world and hired about 54,000 employees in last quarter. Adopting VR headsets will easy its process and improve the on-boarding and training policies.
