WhatsApp introduces a redesigned Calls Tab for users

WhatsApp- a free messaging and calling app, is widely famous among users to send text messages, photos, videos, documents, and make voice and video calls. The company has been introducing various new features on the platform to improve the overall user experience.

Recently, WhatsApp has introduced a redesigned Calls Tab.

When you now tap on the Calls Tab, you will see intuitive tabs for quick call, scheduling a call, keypad for dialling a number, and favourites. While there is also a recent call list below that shows about missed, incoming, and outgoing calls.

With the schedule calls option, you can invite people or groups to join a call on the mentioned date and time in advance. All participants will receive a notification before the call starts.

This new Calls Tab acts as a single location for all calling-related activities, simplifying the way to communicate with friends, family, or colleagues.

It was recently revealed that Microsoft’s Copilot will be removed from WhatsApp on 15th January 2026. This is due to the recent changes that WhatsApp has made to its platform policies, as per which all LLM chatbots are going to be removed. A new safety tool was also introduced on WhatsApp that alerts users when they attempt to share screen with an unknown contact. At the beginning of this month, WhatsApp officially launched its own dedicated Apple Watch app that lets users access core messaging features directly on their wrist.
