Instagram TV app now available for Google TV in the US

Last year in December, Meta launched the Instagram TV app on Amazon Fire TV, and in the press release, it was mentioned that the app was first launching on Fire TV, which suggested that it would expand to more platforms in the future.

It is now officially announced that the Instagram TV app is available on Google TV devices in the US.

Users can browse reels organised into channels based on their interests and search for creators they love. Reels play automatically, and the app also allows you to like, view comments and reshare reels. Meanwhile, Search makes it easier to find your favourite creators.

While introducing the app for Fire TV, it was also mentioned that, over time, some new features will be introduced for the Instagram TV app, like using your phone as a remote, a more intuitive way to channel surf, shared feeds with friends, and making it easier to keep up with your favourite creators in one place.

Google TV users in the US can install the Instagram app and sign in with their account. You can add up to five accounts, so everyone in your home can enjoy a personalised way to watch Reels. If you want, you can also create a separate account just for Instagram on TV.
