Samsung Confirms March 17th India Launch for Galaxy M17e 5G, Price Expected Under ₹14,000

Last night, Samsung officially confirmed the launch of the Galaxy M17e 5G smartphone for India, but it did not mention the launch date. However, the date has now been announced, and several key specifications have also been updated on the microsite.

As per the details updated on the microsite, the Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G will break cover in India on March 17, 2026 — the same day the POCO X8 Pro series is also set to launch in the country. Although it was already expected that the Galaxy M17e 5G would arrive as a rebrand of the Samsung Galaxy A07 5G, the microsite now reconfirms it.

The details revealed via the microsite confirm that the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC and run One UI 8 based on Android 16. The software will include features such as Now Bar, Live Notifications, and large folders on the home screen.

Furthermore, the phone will come with a display offering a 120Hz refresh rate and pack a 6,000mAh battery, which is claimed to provide up to 26 hours of playback time. It will also feature IP54 dust and splash resistance, along with support for Circle to Search.

The update policy confirms six major OS upgrades along with six years of security patch updates (Quarterly Secuirty Updates). In terms of cameras, the device will offer a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor at the back, paired with an 8MP front-facing selfie camera.

Two colour options revealed on the microsite are Blitz Blue and Vibe Violet, with the phone measuring 8.2mm in thickness. In terms of connectivity, it is shown to support 12 5G bands, which Samsung claims is the highest in the segment.

Privacy options mentioned on the microsite include Samsung Knox security, along with face unlock and fingerprint unlock. With Samsung Wallet, users will also be able to make UPI or card payments with a single tap using biometric authentication (fingerprint or facial recognition) without needing to enter a PIN.

The pricing range has also been mentioned on the microsite, confirming that the device will be priced under ₹14,000.
