Redmi K90 Max – Active Cooling Tech with 165Hz Display Revealed
As revealed via a teaser shared on Weibo, Xiaomi has confirmed that the upcoming Redmi K90 Max smartphone will feature a newly-developed internal cooling system, aimed at delivering improved performance during heavy gaming usage. Speaking of it, the device is said to be equipped with a large 18.1mm vertical fan, capable of drawing in 1.3 times more air (0.42 CFM) compared to its competitors, along with a simulated vortex air duct design featuring metal fins that guides airflow directly over the heat source, thereby reducing turbulence and improving airflow efficiency by up to 40%.
For the cooling fan, three adjustable speed modes are also supported, including a high-speed strong cooling mode that is claimed to reduce the device temperature by up to 10°C within 100 seconds. Additionally, at its maximum speed, the fan noise level is rated at 32dB, which is said to be comparable to a quiet room environment. The brand further explains that this has been achieved using uniquely designed fan blades and shock-absorbing materials. Also, the air duct system is said to be completely sealed with an all-metal bearing, offering a durability of up to 50,000 hours. For added protection, the device is also expected to feature IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Speaking more, the marketing material also claims that the device will offer a 6-year warranty along with lifetime cleaning and maintenance services. While the teaser does not reveal full display specifications, it confirms support for a 165Hz refresh rate and a new generation dual-chip setup for enhanced gaming performance. Overall, the Redmi K90 Max is being positioned as a performance-focused gaming smartphone.
Regarding its other expected specs, although not officially confirmed, tipster experience more has suggested that the device could be powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset and may offer a base storage option of 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. He further adds that the device is likely to be positioned between the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max models, which are already available in the Chinese market. Additionally, another model – the Redmi K90 Ultra – is also said to be in the pipeline, however, no specific launch timeline has been revealed yet.
As for its launch timeline, the Redmi K90 Max smartphone is expected to debut within this month itself, and an official announcement for the launch date from Xiaomi is currently awaited.
