Oppo Pad 5 with 12.1″ 2.8K eye-comfort display, 10,050mAh battery, DImensity 7300 SoC launched in India

Oppo, alongside the Reno 15 5G series, has also launched the Oppo Pad 5 in the Indian market. However, those unaware should note that this is not the Oppo Pad 5 that was earlier introduced in China. Instead, the device appears to be a rebranded version of the Oppo Pad Air 5(China), which is also known globally as the OnePlus Pad Go 2. The tablet has been launched in both Wi-Fi (OPD2502) and 5G (OPD2503) variants in India.

Here is more to it.

Oppo Pad 5 Specs and Features

OPPO Pad 5 comes equipped with a large 12.1″ 2.8K LCD eye-comfort display that delivers a sharp 2800 × 1980 resolution, a 7:5 aspect ratio, 284 PPI, and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. With up to 900 nits peak brightness and Dolby Vision support, the display is designed to offer vivid visuals while remaining easy on the eyes, aided by TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 4.0 certification and reduced blue light for long hours of work or entertainment.

Under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Also, the 5G variant comes with a dedicated single SIM tray. Both the front and the rear house an 8MP camera sensor. It also supports USB OTG, allowing users to connect USB flash drives or accessories via the USB Type-C port.

For productivity and creativity, the tablet supports a flagship-grade low-latency OPPO Pencil 2, enabling precise handwriting, sketching, and note-taking. Features such as real-time handwriting polish help keep notes clean and readable, while AI-powered note-taking tools enhance efficiency with smarter organisation and capture of ideas. The pencil itself offers up to 20 hours of uninterrupted use, with a quick 10-minute charge providing up to 12 hours of usage.

Powering the OPPO Pad 5 is a massive 10,050mAh battery, and it comes with 33W fast wired charging support. OPPO claims up to 53 hours of online music playback, up to 15 hours of online video streaming, or up to 6 hours of heavy gaming on a single charge.

On the audio front, the tablet features a quad-speaker immersive sound system that provides rich, cinematic audio for movies, games, and media consumption. Connectivity is another highlight, with seamless cross-device and cross-ecosystem connectivity allowing users to easily transfer photos, files, and videos between OPPO Pad devices, smartphones, iPhones, and PCs for smooth collaboration and sharing.

Running on ColorOS 16 for Pad, the OPPO Pad 5 focuses on a fast and fluid user experience, optimised for large-screen productivity. OPPO also promises long-term performance stability with a 48-month fluency protection certification from TÜV SÜD. In terms of design, the tablet is offered in Aurora Pink and Starlight Black colour options.

The tablet supports Quick App Launch & Switch, allowing users to open apps faster and switch smoothly between up to 12 active applications at once.

It also features a Flux Home Screen, designed to expand the workspace with a flexible dock that can hold up to 15 apps, along with a home-screen grid capable of accommodating up to 60 apps.

The 8GB + 256GB (5G) model includes an ambient light sensor, colour temperature sensor, e-compass, accelerometer, Hall sensor, and proximity sensor, while the 8GB + 128GB (Wi-Fi) variant offers an ambient light sensor, colour temperature sensor, accelerometer, and Hall sensor.

In terms of connectivity, both variants support Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 5, and 802.11a/b/g/n standards, along with WLAN tethering. The 5G model supports a 5G cellular network via SIM, whereas the Wi-Fi variant does not offer cellular connectivity. Bluetooth 5.4 with Low Energy and BLE Audio is present, with support for SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, and LDAC codecs.

Both versions feature a USB Type-C port and support Type-C digital earphones (analogue Type-C headphones are not supported). Cell Broadcast Service and GNSS location technology are available only on the 5G variant.
