Meizu 22 Teased with 1.2mm Symmetrical Bezels and Iconic White Front Panel Using LIPO Display Tech

Back in May 2025, we spoke with Meizu’s Executive Director of Global Business, Mr. Binbin Gu, who shared the brand’s long-term vision and international ambitions. In that interview, the executive highlighted a major shift in global consumer behaviour, saying: “Nowadays, overseas consumers are more and more inclined to choose integrated eco-products, and Meizu’s AI ecosystem connects hardware, software and services to create a borderless smart life experience. We will develop new products according to the habits of consumers in different countries and regions, so that more overseas users can experience the charm of the AI ecosystem.”
Now, Meizu is back in the spotlight with teasers for its next major launch, the Meizu 22 series. While the Meizu 21 was launched in November 2023 in China, the Meizu 22 has clearly been delayed. According to Meizu, that delay was intentional as the brand focused on taking its design and engineering to the next level. At the heart of that ambition is a bold claim: the Meizu 22 will feature the world’s slimmest symmetrical bezels, just 1.2mm on all four sides.

In its latest Weibo teaser, Meizu also brings back its iconic white front panel, calling it more than just a design choice; it’s a symbol of the brand’s commitment to purity and balance. Meizu argues that a device without a white front lacks soul, and says most manufacturers have avoided this design due to technical challenges. But Meizu has taken a different path, combining LIPO screen technology and custom engineering to make the impossible possible.
According to earlier reports, the Meizu 22 will feature a 5500mAh battery, a 71mm-wide body, and, for the first time in a number series, a periscope telephoto camera. It is expected to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, positioning it as a true flagship contender.
At the Meizu Note 16 Pro launch event, the company also announced that starting with the Meizu 22 series, it will invest heavily in imaging, with the goal of reshaping its reputation in mobile photography. Moreover, Meizu plans to move away from the traditional “standard” and “Pro” variants and instead build a more diverse lineup, described as a “Meizu 22 universe”, with multiple form factors tailored for different user needs.
As the countdown to launch continues, Meizu is building anticipation with every teaser. The latest ends with a message that reflects both the brand’s philosophy and promise: “Not white? Then wait a little longer.” For Meizu, the Meizu 22 isn’t just about specs—it’s a carefully crafted statement of design and user experience.
The Meizu 22 series is expected to launch in August 2025.
