iQOO 15R to Come with 50MP Sony LYT-700 OIS Sensor Instead of the Expected 200MP Samsung HP5

iQOO has now revealed the main rear camera sensor the device will feature, confirming the detail through a post shared on its official X handle.
Here is more to it.
iQOO 15R Main Rear Camera Specs Revealed
When iQOO first teased the design of the iQOO 15R, it looked largely similar to the iQOO Z11 Turbo, which was announced in China. The other specifications teased at the time—such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, the Q2 Super Computing Chip, a dedicated network enhancement chip for improved connectivity, a 6.5K Ice Core VC cooling system, a 7,600mAh battery, and 100W Flash Charge—further suggested that the iQOO 15R could be a rebranded version of the iQOO Z11 Turbo. However, it now appears that iQOO has scaled back the camera hardware, dropping the 200MP Samsung HP5 sensor found on the Z11 Turbo.

According to a post on X, the iQOO 15R will instead feature a 50MP Sony LYT-700 primary rear camera with OIS support. While details about the remaining cameras were not mentioned, tipster Gadgetsdata had earlier claimed in December that the phone would retain a 32MP front-facing selfie camera, similar to the iQOO Z11 Turbo.
Along with this, iQOO had also confirmed that the iQOO 15R will ship with OriginOS 6, along with a promise of four major OS upgrades and six years of security patch updates.
