Honor Magic 8 Lite with 6.79″ AMOLED 120Hz Display and Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 Launched in the UK
The Honor Magic 8 Lite has officially launched in the UK, and as the earlier Google Play Console listing suggested, it really is a rebranded Honor X9D 5G. The spec sheet confirms it.
Here is more to it.
Honor Magic 8 Lite 5G Specs and Features
It features a 6.79″ AMOLED display with support for 1.07 billion colours and a 1.5K resolution. It uses 1.3mm narrow bezels to achieve a 94.6% screen-to-body ratio and offers a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel reaches a peak HDR brightness of 6000 nits and includes eye-comfort measures such as 3840Hz PWM dimming, Dynamic Dimming, Circadian Night Display, AI Defocus Display, and hardware-level low blue light.
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset (same as the Honor X9D 5G), and it runs on MagicOS 9 based on Android 15. It comes with 8GB of RAM, plus an extra 8GB of virtual RAM via HONOR’s RAM Turbo, and offers 256GB or 512GB of storage.
The rear has a 108MP main sensor measuring 1/1.67 inches, supported by OIS and EIS to reduce motion shake, paired with a 5MP Ultra Wide Lens and a 16MP selfie shooter. HONOR’s AI features—AI Eraser, AI Cutout, and AI Outpainting—are integrated for photo editing, while HONOR Connection enables cross-platform transfers, including to iOS. A 4K HD moving photo collage feature is also available.
The Magic8 Lite uses a 7500mAh silicon-carbon battery, with HONOR stating that it maintains more than 80% of its capacity after six years of use. Test data indicates up to 52.5 hours of music playback, 23.8 hours of online video streaming, 16.8 hours of gaming, or 12.3 hours of video calling on a single charge. The phone supports 66W wired SuperCharge and 7.5W wired reverse charging, and the battery is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 55°C. An ultra-power saving mode allows up to 60 minutes of calling when the battery level drops to 2%.
Durability remains a major focus, with the device carrying an SGS Triple Resistant Premium Performance Certification, as well as the SGS 5-Star Comprehensive Reliability Certification. According to HONOR, the phone can withstand drops from heights up to 2.5 metres due to reinforced construction materials, including a non-Newtonian fluid layer and ultra-deep tempered glass. The Magic8 Lite is also rated IP69K for water resistance and has been tested to function after immersion at a depth of 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes. It is designed to handle rinsing, splashing, dirty water, and brief exposure to high-temperature water. AI Heavy Rain Touch and AI Glove Touch aim to maintain usability in adverse weather conditions.
Availability
The HONOR Magic8 Lite will be available in Forest Green, Midnight Black, and Reddish Brown. It is set to be released in the UK in early 2026 through retail and operator partners, including EE, Virgin Media O2, Vodafone, Three, Tesco Mobile, Currys, Argos, Very, Amazon, AO, and John Lewis & Partners.
