Android XR will bring Gemini to glasses and headsets making AI even easier to use and create new experiences

Previously, at the Google I/O event, the company announced its Project Aura, which focuses on the upcoming smart glasses powered by Android XR. These glasses look like actual glasses, and with the help of these glasses, users can message friends, make appointments, take photos, and more.

Google has revealed that Android XR will be powering an ecosystem of headsets and glasses (like video see-through headsets, optical see-through headsets, AR glasses, and AI glasses) and will bring Gemini to these devices so that users can have an assistant right at the moment, sharing their vantage point. Gemini on these upcoming devices will free up your hands so you can stay present and engage with the world around you, whether it’s real or virtual.

Gemini is said to make Android XR headsets and glasses easier to use and more powerful by understanding what you are seeing and taking actions on your behalf.

It was previously revealed that Google has partnered with innovative eyewear brands, starting with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, to create stylish glasses with Android XR. In the future, the company will be working with more partners, like Kering Eyewear, to bring even more options to users.
