Sony bags IPL TV broadcast media rights for next 5 years?

The IPL broadcast and digital media rights were sold for INR. INR 57.5 Cr per match and INR 48 Cr per match and reportedly, Sony wins the media rights auction.

The highly awaited annual match IPL 2023 had four bidders including Viacom18, Disney Star, Zee and Sony.

However, the auction went online starting from June 12 for media rights, starting from 2023 to 2027.

However the winning entity is yet to be announced besides the netizens are stuck on several reports which says, Song Pictures have won the rights for next 5 years of IPL.

The netizens assumed Sony Pictures would win and started celebrating it while sharing some early IPL matches broadcast by Sony Pictures.

But still, many users aren’t convinced with the rumours as they’re waiting for the official news as because, today is Day 2 of the auction and results are awaited.
