Napoli go for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Chelsea up for Gabriel Slonina bid

Club Napoli have asked about taking Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan. Chelsea had signed the 27 year old in 2018 for a whopping amount of 71.6 million pound, though he has founded first team opportunities limited in recent times.

With that deal, Kepa became the most expensive goalkeeper in history, however, he has had not much at the Stamford Bridge.

The 27 year old missed the decisive penalty kick in last year’s Carabao Cup final defeat.

Moreover, the Spanish is known for refusing to be substituted in the 2019 Carabao Cup final when then-manager Maurizio Sarri wanted to swap his goalkeeper for a penalty shootout.

Now, being experienced and hitting it through the past years in his career, Kepa needs first team football, and Napoli now may be able to offer just that.

The Spaniard has been on Chelsea’s pre season tour of America and played in their first game.

Slonina is expected to decide his future next week but, should he move to Chelsea FC, it is likely he will be loaned back to his MLS side next season. Kepa lost his place as Chelsea No. 1 after Mendy joined in a 22 million pounds from Rennes in 2020.
