KL Rahul gives winning trophy to youngsters; follows traditions

India whitewashed the Zimbabwe team back in their own yard and took the series 3-0 by winning the third and final ODI by 13 runs. The star of the match was Indian opener Shubman Gill, who brought up his maiden international century by smashing 130 in 97 balls.

A series win is a good boost to the Men in Blue, just before the Asia Cup in UAE later this month.

Regular and major players of the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah were given rest to focus on tournaments like Asia Cup and upcoming T20 World Cup.

Now, the major blow for India is that ace pacer Bumrah will be not participating in the Asia Cup due to an injury.

However, after the post match presentation of the India & Zimbabwe series, India captain KL Rahul gave the trophy to young guns Shahbaz Ahmed and Rahul Tripathi. The LSG skipper followed the traditions set by MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli in the past.

This gesture from KL is winning hearts all over the internet. The Karnataka boy made a comeback to international cricket after almost 6 months after getting his surgery done and then recovering from Covid – 19.
