Government is exploring all options to import oil from Russia – Hardeep Puri Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas

Today in the lower house of the parliament of India, Mr Hardeep Singh Puri Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that they’re in talks with Russia on importing oil. He further said that war in Ukraine will have a severe effect on oil prices. However, the government of India is working hard in identifying new partners also. While addressing the lower house Lok Sabha he said that Government is exploring all options to import oil from Russia.

He further said that he has spoken to officials in the Russian Federation for oil imports. Mr Puri also informed the house issues relating to freight insurance, money and other aspects that need to be discussed also. He further said after all these issues are met then only we can come to a final verdict.

Sources said that the fuel price will increase as several sanctions have been imposed on the Russian Federation for the export of Russian goods.
