OnePlus Reportedly Planning to End Its US and European Operations
As per the latest report from the publication WinFuture, OnePlus is likely to shut down its business operations in the US and European markets soon. The brand will reportedly continue clearing its already-available inventory in both regions, however, no fresh stock or new products are expected to be brought in once the existing inventory is sold out.
Speaking more, the report also points out that existing OnePlus users in the US and Europe will continue receiving after-sales support and software updates for their smartphones until the end of their respective promised update lifecycles. At this time, OnePlus has not officially confirmed its reported withdrawal from these two markets.
In related news, OPPO is also said to be planning the closure of the US-based research and development centers of OnePlus and Realme as part of its cost-reduction measures. These changes are reportedly being made to streamline the operations of the three brands and reduce overall operational expenses.
Regarding OnePlus’ Indian business, the brand has already shifted most of its offline smartphone business towards online channels. Also to add, its service centers have been merged with OPPO’s service network, thereby increasing the overall after-sales service coverage available for OnePlus users in the Indian market.
