EU nearing conclusion on cutting Russia off from Swift: French official

Conversations among European Union members about eliminating Russia from the Swift international payment system are near to reaching a final decision, a French presidential administrator told on Saturday.

The administrator, who was talking on circumstance of nowheresville, announced that no EU member state was obstructing Russia’s exclusion from the network, but that the conversations were however ongoing.

Finland and Sweden have rubbed off threats from neighbouring Russia that their feasible enlisting of NATO would accelerate “serious military-political effects” from Moscow for the two nations.
