SpaceX reduces the price of Starlink Standard Kit; New customers can also lock in a reduced monthly service fee of $59 for the first year

Lately, Starlink has been a choice of many users when it comes to fast and reliable internet, especially in rural areas. SpaceX has also been slashing prices for Starlink’s monthly plans and its Standard Kit in order to entice more customers with affordable pricing.
It is now revealed (via @SawyerMerritt) that SpaceX has cut the price of its Starlink Standard Kit to a record low of $89 in parts of the US. This is a 75% drop from its usual price ($349) and 85% less than a year ago ($599). Apart from this, new customers can also lock in a reduced monthly service (Residential Lite) fee of $59, down from $120 for the first year.
Do note that if you are situated in a high service demand area, then these discounts won’t be applicable, and you will have to pay the usual prices, while you may also have to pay an extra fee of $1000 as a demand surcharge.
In related news, SpaceX has recently entered into a purchase agreement with EchoStar for 50 MHz of exclusive S-band spectrum in the US (known as AWS-4 and PCS-H) as well as global Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) spectrum licenses. The acquisition was done for approximately $17 billion.
