For reasons unknown, Jio has removed the ₹249 prepaid plan that offered 1GB of data per day with a validity of 28 days. This plan has now effectively been replaced by the ₹299 option, which provides 1.5GB of data per day for 28 days.
In addition, Jio still offers a ₹239 plan with 1.5GB of data per day, though its validity is shorter at 24 days.
The ₹249 plan has disappeared from Jio’s official website. However, according to TelecomTalk, the 1GB per day plan will continue to be available offline through POS retailers and Jio stores.
Meanwhile, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in its June 2025 report revealed that India added 20 lakh new mobile subscribers during the month. Jio maintained its lead as the largest telecom operator, followed by Airtel in the second spot.
